Basics: An Overview
An alarming deception has taken place within the Church over the past generations. It has largely
gone unnoticed because of its gradual nature. It is the methodical redefinition of Christianity.
This has happened throughout the years as the common definitions to biblical words have been
changed. A little here, a little there, and soon the original meanings are lost altogether. If the definition
of a word is changed, then the meaning of that word – and any understanding attached to it – is
altered into something else. For example: If I call a skunk a hammer – I am going to be shocked when
I reach to use it.
This concern becomes all the more daunting when attempts are made to discuss the true meanings of
these words with religious people. Arguments, anger, and mistrust ensue. Even now, your flesh may
struggle with this possibility as well.
Ministers – the supposed gate keepers of truth – are expected to actually seek God and study to
show themselves approved before the Lord. Instead, for the most part, they have become
accustomed to believing what other men teach them in order to be approved by them. The result is
that because of this rejection of God, the Church has slipped away into a darkened understanding –
all the while claiming to be the real thing.
The world now mocks the Church’s half-built tower, and rightfully so.
Like in Jesus’ day, the traditions of men have once again become more important than hearing the
voice of God. Men and women who claim to be from God even reject the reality that God speaks.
These same people teach a distorted salvation void of real deliverance.
A common statement to this reality is: If this is true, then almost everybody is going to hell. If that
concern is enough to stop you in your tracks, so be it. But before you reject the truth altogether,
know this:
Moses bowed before the burning bush – alone.
Peter followed Jesus before any crowds formed.
Paul was outnumbered during his entire ministry.
John sat alone on the island of Patmos.
And Jesus Himself said that the road to life is narrow and few find it.
Just because the truth has been hidden for years, doesn’t mean we have to believe a lie. God is real
and He reveals His will to those who are willing to hear. We pray that you are one so minded.
